About Me

Hey! I'm Alexiss Flavin @Ja4V8s28Ck, a software engineer who enjoys building fast, reliable systems and poking at them until they reveal how and why they actually work. I work with Python, TypeScript and Go building and optimizing services that handle several requests at once. I also have a thing about developer experience, bad tooling and painful deploys that bother me more than they probably should, so I started looking into deployment side of the operation.

Lately I've been going deeper into cloud infrastructure, by actively working through AWS certifications. The goal is to be a Solutions Architect, because I want to move beyond building individual services and start designing the infrastructure that entire products run on.

Outside of software, I enjoy problem solving and playing CTFs. At boring times I do challenges from Advent of Code, CryptoHack, HackTheBox and TryHackMe. I've spent more time than I would admit on reverse engineering binaries on Crackme.de using tools like Ghidra, IDA and GDB. I also participate in CTFs across crypto, reversing, binary exploitation and web exploitation. It's mostly for fun, but that's also how I learn about how software vulnerability and exploits. Feel free to schedule a chat, if you'd like to connect.
